I've had some major changes happen in my life in the last few months, and to all those who are still checking in with this blog I would like to say thank you.
I've had to put my photography on hold for a while, so I haven't been booking any formal shoots. That will change as soon as my health improves and "the new me" emerges. :) I do plan on enjoying experimenting with my photography when the opportunity arises and I will share that with you as soon as I am able to.
I have learned one thing -- life is too short not to do the things that you love. For me, that is photography and scrapbooking. I am starting to feel the desire to shoot and create return!
When I am up and running again, I would be glad to capture your moments again. Until then, I hope you enjoy the photos I'll share from my own life.
Thank you!

Wheat Fields and School Parks
I was asked about settings for family portraits the other day. I love photos with interesting textures and colours, but I believe you can take great photos almost anywhere. I've even seen fabulous shots in back alleys and against graffiti walls.
Here are a couple that I captured in my backyard, by an old old barn:

And here are a few samples from a session with S., D., and J. in a wheat field and by the railway tracks:

This session was so much fun! It was with B. and his little sisters, J. and R. We shot all the photos in the park at their school. We ran around, laughed, and played for an hour -- and the resulting photos turned out fantastic!

It was a busy week for me last week with photo sessions. I have another big session to share in the next few days -- I'm working on the editing right now! All of my business so far has been word of mouth, so if you like what you see please feel free to share this website with your friends and family. Thanks so much!

Shawn & Deanna & J.
Last week I had the pleasure of capturing a family that lives nearby. They are a farming family, and wanted to do photos featuring their land and their home. So we went into their yard and their canola fields at sunset to capture their photos.
I just love it when families have sentimental attachments in their photos! This was such a wonderful shoot -- thanks Deanna and Shawn!
Here are some of my favorite photos from this shoot:

Melissa's Family
I was asked to capture my friend Melissa, her husband, and their daughter in their hometown last month -- and it was lots of fun! Their daughter, T, is such a sweetheart. We went to the park, to a canola field, and the local school. You can find fabulous places to take photos wherever you go!

I've had a few more fun photo sessions to share -- so keep checking back! And if you like what you see, you can contact me to book a fall session.
